Lorenzo was an Honorary Professor of LUISS University in Rome, having recently retired from the position of Chair of Philosophy of Social Sciences.
After completing his studies in Economics at the University of Siena, Lorenzo spent a research period at Linacre College in the early 1980s. He belonged to the generation of students who were deeply influenced by the teaching of John Hicks and his Oxford experience contributed towards his lifelong research interests in the methodology of the social sciences and the study of liberalism. Lorenzo held very fond memories of his time at College and returned regularly to pursue his research work in the Bodleian Libraries.
He was a founding member of the Italian Linacre Society, and one of its past presidents, as well as a regular participant to the annual meetings of the Society. His kindness and his smile will be greatly missed by his friends at Linacre.
