As Hilary Term drew to a close, EnSpire were excited to host the final of the All-Innovate idea competition. EnSpire Oxford is the University’s entrepreneurship hub, connecting all of the entrepreneurial initiatives and resources found within the University in one place.

The competition was designed to foster early-stage entrepreneurial thinking and participants were offered the opportunity to develop, refine, and present their ideas through ‘Validate’, a start-up ideation platform. Participants were given access to entrepreneurial training sessions, equipping them with the skills needed to create compelling business models, while expanding their professional networks. The teams were additionally encouraged to apply for funding to bring their ideas to life.

Following a rigorous judging process, EnSpire proudly awarded £500 in funding to multiple ideas, including Weibin’s team who presented their innovative plan for Hualuo Printing and Dyeing.

Weibin is pursuing an MSc(Res) in Materials at Linacre and is focusing research on the thin film deposition and dielectric properties of biodegradable polymer materials.

Weibin said of the experience;

Winning the EnSpire 2025 All-Innovate Idea Competition was an incredible honour—I’m truly thrilled and grateful for the experience. I want to sincerely thank my amazing teammates for their creativity, dedication, and all the late nights we spent bringing our idea to life—this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without them.
