In this Round Table discussion, representatives of the Oxford Gardens, Libraries and Museums will get together to discuss what lies ahead for their respective institutions: In our rapidly changing world, how can Gardens, Libraries and Museums ensure their narratives remain relevant and relatable? The Round Table discussion, which will be chaired by Linacre Fellow Professor Chris Morton from the Pitt Rivers Museum, will explore a range of topics and spark interdisciplinary reflections such as:
· What is the impact of new conservation theories and practices on the way objects are displayed? How does this affect audience engagement?
· What have we learned about the practice of decoloniality in museums? What are the most effective strategies that have emerged?
· How can museums effectively communicate issues surrounding materials in an increasingly digital environment?
· How can we harness the potential of AI and technology in cultural communication, and how can we use these tools responsibly?
