About the award: The College offer an annual Domus Research Prize worth £500. The prize aims to recongise students who research and communication skills excel, both in written and oral format. There are three categories of awards: the Keene Domus Prize for research in any academic area; the Dobson Prize for students in the MPLS division, and the Busuttil Domus Prize for research in the areas of Business, Criminology, Government, International Relations, Law or Politics.
Application process: applications are made by submitting an article of no more than 1,000 words (including the title and up to one diagram), that describes an element of your research that you think is particularly novel, exciting, or important. Articles should be aimed at non-specialists audiences. The application form can be found here.
The Academic Committee will short-list candidates who will then be invited to make a 15-minute presentation at the annual Gaudy, to an audience of fellows, students and alumni. The audience will vote to select 3 winners and 3 runners-up (a prize of £50, made possible by Mr Afshin Ahmadian).
Deadlines: the Domus Research Prize is usually advertised in the long vacation, with all students emailed when applications are open. The deadline for application is the 5th of August with short-listed candidates presenting at the Gaudy on the 7th of September.
