We are pleased to invite you to join us for a talk and networking on Wednesday 18th September at 6pm. Alumnus Reza Khorshidi (2007) will give a talk titled Welcome to the dawn of “generation-first” AI products at Simmons & Simmons (close to Moorgate tube station).

A big thank you to alumnus Mark Watterson (1997) for making this event possible.

About the talk

Advances in generative AI have enabled a new paradigm in AI products and brought us to the dawn of what I call the “generation-first paradigm” in building AI products. In this paradigm, from day one, we build for an end game where AI will be the base case for generating the content, artefacts, services, etc.

For instance, consider education: Generative AI can do content, assessment, and tutoring at or better than human levels. Soon, we will have music and many other art forms, and we will experience their generation-first transformation. In this talk, I aim to introduce this concept and share several existing, developing and upcoming examples.

About the speaker

Reza is currently the CEO of Zeesta Labs, a medical AI company he co-founded in 2023. He is also the Chief Product and AI officer at Elandi, a generation-first EdTech platform. Reza’s academic research at Oxford is focused on applying ML to multimodal biomedical data for various topics in precision medicine.

Prior to his recent roles, Reza was the Chief Scientist at AIG, where he led Investments AI, a global team focused on ML research and building ML products to generate trading alpha and operational efficiency for AIG’s asset management and insurance businesses.

This event is part of the Linacre Business Law and Finance Network, but open to all alumni and Friends of College.
