Having had the privilege of a university education and a really positive post-graduate experience at Linacre in the late 80s, I feel it is important to try and help others with their graduate studies and give something back to the college (and to the wider Oxford collegiate system), if possible, by becoming an External Trustee. Helping make the Linacre college experience a better one for staff, fellows and students is important to me.
After completing a D.Phil in Physical Chemistry at Linacre in 1991, I spent two years in post-doctoral research in Paris, before moving to the financial services sector in London.
Since then I’ve spent three decades in Asset and Wealth Management, with most time spent in relation to Investment and Risk Management, but along the way I’ve had to work extremely closely with teams from Audit, Compliance, Risk, Financial Crime, Data Protection and, not least, in dealing with Regulators.
Away from work, I have kept an active interest in Linacre College since leaving in 1991 (returning to live in Oxford & Witney since 2005) and try to keep healthy, active and balanced life. I am a keen reader, gardener, dog-owner and sports enthusiast. I was once the President of Linacre College Common Room; I used to speak French, and before Covid lockdown I used to enjoy travelling and meeting people.
Above all, I hope that, as an external Trustee, I can be of service in the administration of the College and its property and funds…and welcome any interaction with the current cohort when the opportunity arises.
